What is covered
The sailing lesson will begin first thing in the morning
at our dock where you will spend about 30 minutes
getting to know it's systems.
Then it's cast off time and you will spend
approximately an hour backing out the boat and re-docking it again -
learning basically how to park a 10,000 pound hunk of fiberglass that only
has a 13 hp engine and no brakes.
Once you have learned not to crash into docks
and other boats we'll head for the open ocean.
Hoist those sails!
You'll
unfurl the sails and practice various points of sail, including those
covered in the beginner's course. However the following additional points of
sail will be covered:
Anchoring
You will
learn how to drop and retrieve the "lunch hook", a light anchor used for
daytime anchoring. You'll also learn how to handle the "BIG GUNS"
overnight anchor.
